The N-Series printers were built with the idea of starting with a solid core. For our printer this means a sturdy aluminum frame which has been drop tested. Brute force in this manner may not be the only obstacle the printer encounters in its travels to it’s new home. We recommend to start by watching our Un-boxing video and reading the printer and ideaMaker user guide, to ensure a steady and seamless integration with the printer and functions.

• Setup Guide:
Please read Quick Start Guide for N1 (18.2MB), N2/N2 Plus (9.32MB) and Pro2 Series (8.88MB) before setup.(Hardcopy already in the accessory box. You can download the digital version with right click&save target as.)
• Individual Variance:
Each machine may have different performance due to the variance by certain machined parts. Before high precision print test, extrusion calibration is recommended.
• Too Tight Acrylic Cover Plate:
Raise3D N series machines have an acrylic extruder cover. Three thumb screws are used for locking tight the cover. Sometime the screws may be over tightened for transportation purpose. That may cause to random extrusion stopping during a print job. Just loose the cover will solve the problem.
• Leveling/Nozzle Distance:For N2/N2Plus the print bed is pre-leveled, so leveling is not necessary for initial setup. The distance between the nozzle and the platform could be adjusted by turning the thumb screw on the left-front corner of the Z plate. The higher the screw stands out, the further the distance between nozzle to the print platform gets.
• Switching between different filaments:
Switching between different filaments is not an easy job for the hot-end. Certain filament will leave debris in the nozzle. The different filament melting temperature range can also cause problems. We suggest to use the PLA filament we provide with the machine as cleaning filament. It can sustain from 200C~280C without being carbonized. You could use it at the printing temperature of the most mainstream materials. Extruding the PLA filament at previous filament's temperature slowly would help clean the whole
• Dual Extruder Printings:
The dual extruder is a very compact structure in a very limited space. The cold-end fan is also used for material cooling. However when printing high melting temperature materials like ABS, you can use a fan cover to block the cooling winds.
Another challenge for dual extruder printing is nozzle height adjustment. We developed a procedure that can easily adjust nozzle height. Secondary backup locking screws are installed on the left/right side of the extruder carriage. The screw is blocked by the cold-end fan, so remove the cold-end fan first and then take out the secondary backup screw. Then you can easily move up/down the hot-end by loosing the front screw. 0~3mm distance would be acceptable for most cases. And replacing the hot-end is in the same way.
• Electronic Maintenance:
All the motion board components are in the electronic box on the right side of the machine. Take off the cover then you can do maintenance work.
• Top Cover:
Top cover is only needed when printing material needs to hold the chamber temperature (for example: ABS, PC). Materials like PLA usually do not need to use top cover.

• Filament flowrate compensation :
In most cases, filament don't need flowrate compensation. However, PLA and flexible materials need to have flow rate compensation.
PLA material has a default setting (in the menu Edit->Filament Settings) of 94% flowrate. Print other materials with a PLA setting sliced gcode may cause under-extrusion problem. Flexible material may need over-extrusion compensation as the filament it self is tend to be compressed during extrusion.
Printing with a too high extrusion rate (=filament compesation rate) may cause stop extrusion during printing! That's very important to adjust flowrate for certain filament!
• Infill Speed:
N series printers have a very high initial infill speed at 90mm/s. This high infill speed may affect results of certain movement tests. Decreasing the speed to 60mm/s will help to get more accurate result.
- Now you have successfully started your print job. But printing defects exsist, please check the topic below to check your problems. Most of them related to slicing setting, filaments, print bed setup. So please be patient. You are getting more closer to a good print!
