Challenges and Original Solutions

In the early stages of product development, prototyping and rapid verification are key steps in NAMI’s technology transformation. NAMI also tried to use 3D printing technology to help it break the bottleneck of technology transformation. However, the original 3D printing equipment had the following limitations:

  • Limited printing volume: It is difficult to meet the manufacturing needs of medium and large samples;
  • Slow printing speed: Slow printing speed prolongs the prototype iteration cycle and affects the pace of project advancement;
  • Insufficient stability: Frequent failures or high failure rates increase maintenance costs and time loss;
  • Lack of intelligent management tools: The lack of remote monitoring and multi-user collaboration capabilities reduces team collaboration efficiency.

These problems directly limit NAMI’s flexibility and responsiveness in the verification of new material applications, and hinder its efficient connection from proof of concept (PoC) to technology transfer.

Raise3D Solution Deployment

To improve R&D efficiency and optimize the prototyping process, NAMI introduced a Raise3D Pro3 3D printer equipped with the Hyper Speed Upgrade Kit and deployed it in its core R&D laboratory to support prototype design and functional testing tasks for multiple projects.

Raise3D Pro3 3D printer equipped with the Hyper Speed Upgrade Kit has the following key advantages:

  • Hyper printing speed: the speed can be increased by up to 3 times compared with Raise3D previous printer, significantly reducing the time spent on single prototype production;
  • Large-size build platform (300 x 300 x 300 mm) : Raise3D Pro3 3D printer ‘s large-size build volume supports integrated molding of more complex structures and larger samples;
  • Stable and reliable industrial-grade frame: The Z-axis rod stiffness is increased by 75%, and the performance is more stable, ensuring the printing success rate under long-term continuous operation;
  • Compatible with a variety of engineering materials: including PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, etc., meeting the performance testing requirements of different application scenarios;
  • Intelligent cloud management platform RaiseCloud + ideaMaker software: They realize remote task scheduling, multi-terminal collaboration, real-time status monitoring and other functions to improve team collaboration efficiency and resource utilization.

So far, the equipment has been running for an average of 48 hours per week and has completed the printing of about 300 prototype parts, which are widely used in the fields of outer shells and inner partition of digital device.
